About this Course

Inner Tube Water Polo is a fun, fast-paced sport that combines the excitement of water polo with the added challenge of being seated in inflatable inner tubes. Two teams in the water with 6 players on each team. Teams will compete to score goals by passing and shooting a ball into the opposing team's net, all while floating on inner tubes in a pool. The tubes provide both mobility and a unique twist on traditional water polo, making for an enjoyable and fun game. This sport encourages teamwork, strategy, and quick reflexes, but also adds an element of balance as players must keep their tubes steady while moving and interacting with the ball. Program is designed for ages 8-14 years of age. Rules: - The ball cannot be passed over 1/2 the length of the pool by the goalie. - All players must be in an innertube while playing. Innertube must be horizontal. - Person must be in their innertube to have possession of the ball or else the ball is turned over the other team. - In the case of dual possession, the person who initially had the ball will retain possession. - A face-off will take place at the start of each game. All players begin at ends of pool. After each goal, the goalie gets the ball. Both teams must be on their respective sides. - Rough play will not be tolerated. Penalties for rough play are 1 minute. - DO NOT JUMP OFF THE DECK INTO THE TUBES !! (As this damages the tubes.) - Ball must be presented, not guarded (held against the body); cannot be carried in the tube. - Games will be played the length of the pool. - Games will consist of two 12 minute halves with a 2 minute rest in between. - Proper attire should be worn in the pool at all times. Clean unworn clothes may be worn.
